November 23, 2008 – Covanta Haverhill is awarded First Place for the Most Original/Creative Float in the business division at the 44th Annual VFW Santa Parade in Haverhill Massachusetts.
October 23, 2008 – Covanta Haverhill receives the 2008 SWANA Management Award for Landfill excellence.

May 9, 2006 – USEPA New England Regional Office applauds Covanta Haverhill and five other new Performance Track member institutions for stepping up to the plate to help better protect the region’s air, water and land.
May 4, 2006 – Covanta Haverhill, Inc. receives the USEPA Region 1 Environmental Merit Award for outstanding efforts in preserving New England’s environment.

April 27, 2006 - USEPA announces that Covanta Haverhill has been accepted into EPA’s National Environmental Performance Track Program.
May 17, 2004 – The American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Solid Waste Processing Division (SWPD) recognizes Covanta Haverhill, Inc. as the “Large Waste to Energy Facility of the Year”. This award is given annually to solid waste processing facilities for both combustion and material recovery.
June 15, 2004 – OSHA Region 1 presents Covanta Haverhill the Bronze Star award in recognition of its participation in the Voluntary Protection Program (VPP).
November 21, 2003 – Covanta Haverhill, Inc. celebrated entry into the OSHA Voluntary Participation Program (VPP) with its flag raising ceremony. Covanta Haverhill has earned the distinction of being the first Covanta Energy facility to enter the VPP ranks.
