John Klett,
Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer
Mr. Klett joined Covanta in 1986 as Vice President of Operations. He was promoted to Executive Vice President in 1998 and provided the leadership to sustain record years of production through the company’s restructure during and after its bankruptcy. Named Senior Vice President of Operations in 2004, he led the operational due diligence on the acquisitions and transition of the American Ref-Fuel Company. He is currently serving as Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. In this post, he is responsible for overseeing the long-term operations of all Energy-from-Waste facilities in the United States in addition to International Operations which includes Energy-from-Waste facilities and IPP projects in India, Italy, China, and the Philippines. Mr. Klett has over 40 years of hands-on experience in power plant operation, including 30 years in the Energy-from-Waste industry.
