(Washington, DC) The US Environmental Protection Agency's Office of Research and Development has reviewed a health risk study of the Montgomery County, Maryland energy-from-waste facility. An EPA memo notes that the "results of the quantitative health risk assessments shows the diligence paid to the protection of human heealth in the planning and operation of the MCSWRRF (Montgomery County Solid Waste Resource Recovery Facility)." It goes on further to state that "Montgomery County has done its job well" in this regard.
