16 MAR 2007 - Covanta Energy establishes UK presence at Energy from Waste 2007

Covanta Energy established its UK presence at the Energy from Waste (EfW) 2007 conference held this week in London. Delegates participated in seminars discussing EfW and the growing demand for new facilities in the UK. The main themes this year were new European legislation, Financing EfW plants and Climate Change issues.
Covanta was represented by key staff from the UK office, including Malcolm Chilton, Managing Director and Dan Carbery, Marketing Manager. Arthur Balmer, who is Director - Business Development from the US office, also joined them.
Malcolm Chilton said: "The UK EfW market is relatively underdeveloped when compared with other Northern European countries and the US. Covanta Energy is the world's largest EfW operator with 32 plants worldwide and over 20 years' experience. This is a very exciting time for us as we establish ourselves in the UK."
