21 MAY 2007 - Covanta boosts UK Team with new addition Judith Harper

Covanta Energy has appointed Judith Harper as Senior Development Manager to accelerate its expansion into the UK market. Judith is based at the new UK head office in Kingswinford and will be working to secure new business opportunities for the company in both the public and private sectors.
Judith brings to Covanta 23 years waste management experience covering the public and private sectors including central & local government. Judith was previously with HLC Environmental Projects, a company of Portuguese origin focusing on waste management, where she was responsible for project management including PFI, and international business development. She also worked with HLC to establish a new company to undertake waste and water management in Africa. Prior to that Judith was instrumental in the development of the first PFI integrated waste management contract at Worcestershire County Council, designated a 'pathfinder' project.
As Senior Development Manager for Covanta Energy, Judith will be focusing on developing business for Covanta, particularly local authority waste management contracts. Her extensive connections and experience in the industry both as a former local authority waste management officer, and as a Fellow of CIWM are particularly pertinent. Judith chairs the Communications Committee for CIWM and represents members on both the Midlands regional council and the national General Council. Covanta is also an affiliate member of CIWM. Covanta currently operates 32 Energy from Waste (EfW) plants worldwide, making it the largest EfW supplier internationally.
