20 AUG 2007 - Covanta expands its UK technical team with new Engineering Manager

Covanta Energy has appointed Geoff Price as Engineering Manager for its UK office as part of its ongoing expansion into the UK market.

Geoff Price will be responsible for managing the technical side of the business and will co-ordinate the engineering interface with the US head office. He will be working with Engineering Director, Paul Cole, to develop and implement the Company’s engineering function as well as SHEQ policies and procedures.

Geoff joins Covanta from AMEC Natural Resources where he specialised in Renewable Energy and Energy from Waste projects. While working for AMEC, Geoff lead proposals for several high profile Energy from Waste facilities including the Riverside Resource Recovery plant at Belvedere.

Covanta Energy Managing Director, Malcolm Chilton, said: “This is a very exciting time for Covanta as we continue to expand into the UK market and we are absolutely delighted to have Geoff on board. His engineering and technical knowledge, combined with his experience in working with other Energy from Waste providers, make him an invaluable asset to the team.”

Geoffrey has over 25 years experience in Waste to Energy, Renewable Energy, Power Generation, Oil & Gas & Petrochemical industries. He has worked in key roles (project manager, business development manager, project engineer) on several major projects around the world for clients such as Kuwait Oil Co., Exxon, BP and several Local Government Authorities. He is the most recent addition to Covanta’s UK team based at the new office in the West Midlands.
