Community Outreach

Covanta Pasco, Inc. is committed to being an active and supportive community member. Covanta believes it has a responsibility to give back to the community by investing in communities where we operate; providing jobs for local residents; and supporting education, the environment, social and economic development. Over the past 16 years, it has been a sponsor of many public, private and non-profit organizations. Sponsorship has included in-kind donations of monetary funds, equipment, and/or time and labor.

Covanta Pasco is a member of the Florida Recycles Today organization and participates heavily in event recycling throughout the county. Covanta Pasco is also involved in our local Keep American Beautiful Affiliate; Keep Pasco Beautiful. We organize and participate in two county wide clean ups per year. We sponsor local recycling art contests; sponsor and assist in organizing Earth Day at a local park.

Covanta Pasco, Inc. is also committed to providing those living in the community with a better understanding of the benefits of their neighborhood resource recovery facility. As a component of membership in the EPA Performance Track program, Covanta Pasco, Inc. is required to complete an Annual Performance Report in which it demonstrates to EPA and the public its environmental accomplishments over the year, its continued high level of environmental performance, and its maintenance of the Performance Track membership criteria. Covanta Pasco, Inc. provides limited escorted tours of the facility to anyone interested in learning more about the Resource Recovery process. The facility has hosted tours for students from local grade schools, high schools, universities and colleges, various civic and community organizations, and our customers.
